As a believer in advancing my skills, I have decided to involve myself within my major. I have been a part of Auburn University’s student-run PR agency “The Oaks Agency” for two semesters. Recently, I joined the Auburn Plainsman as a lifestyle reporter. I am involved in Onward campus ministries as a Bible study leader, and am a member of Chi Omega sorority. Starting January 2026, I began working with an Auburn boutique to expand their social media presence. In the summer, I started a marketing internship with City Leadership, a company that sheds light on all the good that Memphis has to offer.

City Leadership Summer Internship

This summer, I am supporting efforts to promote the city of Memphis by highlighting its vibrant community, local events and nonprofit organizations. My work includes creating video content for Choose901, writing blogs for City Leadership and contributing to projects that support community engagement across the city. I have truly fallen in love with the tourism side of public relations.

Each week, I host a segment called “Memphis in a Minute” where I discuss good news in Memphis.
My first Instagram Reel on event coverage was from the Memphis Art Museum announcement.
For this blog, I got to write about the Ed Murphey Classic, where pro athletes and world record holders run at the University of Memphis.
My movie themed Memphis in a Minute using Canva, CapCut and even a Garage Band theme song I made!
This Memphis Redbirds baseball themed Reel was stitched with a viral video as the hook.
For this Reel, I went to an offsite tomato farm to capture its content and message.
This was my first ever video made for Choose901, but it couldn’t be posted because it was after the event. It will be posted next year as a “look what you should come to” post, rather than a “look what you missed” post.
This was my first Memphis in a Minute using a canon R5C camera with a teleprompter rather than my phone. It produces a higher quality and I learned how to incorporate mics into my videos as well.
This reel covered the Ed Murphey Classic, an event where Olympians and world record holders competed on the University of Memphis’ track.
This reel covered night 2 of the Ed Murphey Classic, which included the Murphey Mile, pro pole vaulters and pro shot put stars.
I highlighted Downtown Memphis hotels in this Memphis Staycation-themed Memphis in a Minute!
This Memphis in a Minute used a trend for the summer to engage the audience. This trend uses a harmonica sound to emphasize the heat. I then shared 5 places to cool off in Memphis.

Charming Oaks Boutique

I worked with Charming Oaks’ marketing and social media presence in the spring of 2026. In this position, I gather content from within the store, post reels, posts and stories, and track social media insights to broaden their audience. Click the images below to view my content.

Charming Oaks Boutique is a fashion-forward women’s clothing store in Auburn, Ala.

I post once daily, and here is an example of the content I post.

Here is one of the Instagram Reels I have made for the boutique using CapCut.

The Oaks Agency

I was a member of Auburn University’s student-run PR firm for two semesters. In the first semester, I served as the Director of Earned Media for a local account called Prevail Counseling & Wellness. The next semester, I was promoted to Account Manager for the Auburn-Opelika Running and Track Association, where I attend races, gathered content and created reels. I served as the liaison between my company and my team of college students.

The Auburn Plainsman Newspaper

Last semester, I reached outside of my comfort zone and joined The Auburn Plainsman as a Lifestyle Reporter. I completed seven articles—two in the print edition and five online. My Art Print Edition article received a shoutout and was placed as the first article in the magazine. Through this experience, I was stretched and challenged as a writer, learned how to interview local sources and met incredible people I wouldn’t have met otherwise.

Onward Campus Ministries

As a Bible study leader for Onward, I plan lessons each week and host twelve freshman girls at my house. I encourage them, mentor them and follow up with them throughout the week. On the Onward fall retreat, I helped lead a group of girls, using a list of questions provided after each lesson.

Chi Omega

As a member of Chi Omega, I have learned not only how to deepen friendships and connections, but also give back to the community through our philanthropy Make-A-Wish. As a sorority, we have raised dues to grant kids’ wishes, participated in color runs and given in local drives not pictured.

Sometimes the most meaningful parts of involvement are the elements you wouldn’t expect. It’s not the résumé boosters, skills you expect to learn or positions you hope to acquire; it’s the challenges, growth, unexpected friendships and fulfillment of service that have revealed my love for involvement.

I earned an Adobe Creative Skills Badge in Job Application Essentials, where I learned how to properly make my application stand out against others, design my resume and cover letter with my own personal touch and choose a proper headshot photograph. The last step of the course taught me how to create my LinkedIn header, hyperlinked with a template for creating it.
